Regardless of whether it's required for school or not, more and more students are applying for internships to help broaden their working experience. While your skills and how well you perform in the interview are important deciding factors, how well you present yourself to the interviewer is just as important. To make sure that you get that job, we asked Marijo Caronongan, an HR Consultant and Practitioner, to list down the beauty tips every girl must know and keep in mind when heading to an interview.

ONE. Hair must not be unruly! If you have long hair, keep it pulled back either in a ponytail or a bun to look neat.

TWO.  Trim your nails—especially if they are long already. If you want to apply nail polish, make sure to stick to pastel colors only.

THREE. Don't forget about your toenails! "If an applicant is wearing a pair of open-toed shoes, the toes are one of the first things that I check," Marijo said.

FOUR. Ditch the red. When it comes to interview makeup, less is always more. You want the interview to focus on your answers and not be distracted by your bright red lips.

FIVE. If you decide to wear a cologne or perfume, make sure to choose a scent that is light and fresh only. Some interviewees may be allergic to certain scents and it’s important to be mindful of this, too.

SIX. Watch your sweaty hands. It's normal for an interviewee to get sweaty hands—especially when you’re nervous. But make sure to dry your hands first before shaking the hand of your interviewer.
