Beauty Q&A: What Is The Best Way To Clean My Makeup Brushes

Find out exactly how you can keep your makeup brushes spick and span!

Everyone knows that the first, and most important beauty commandment is to wash one's makeup off before dozing off. While there are a lot of do's and don'ts in creating strong beauty looks, and achieving great skin, everyone knows that washing one's makeup brushes at least once a week is as important as the cardinal rule in the beauty bible. Because we totally get that washing one's makeup brushes is not as fun as putting on different makeup loot, and washing them the wrong way can also break these beauty investments, we asked Dr. Raissa how exactly should one wash her makeup brushes.

Q: What's the best way to clean my makeup brushes?

Dr. Raissa: Clean your makeup brushes with baby shampoo, liquid soap, bath soap, or facial wash. Any cleanser that can adequately remove makeup, dirt, and oil is fine, but you can opt for baby products because the formulas tend to be gentler, and won't be strong enough to damage your makeup brushes. It also helps to use brushes with white or light bristles so, it's easier to see if you've cleaned your brushes properly.
