Every college girl has a skin care regimen that she absolutely swears by. But whether it's a basic cleanse-tone-moisturize regimen or a trendier Korean-inspired skin care routine, it's normal for a college girl to not worry about wrinkles yet. After all, don't wrinkles form at a much later age?
While wrinkles usually start forming at a later age, some girls start to see fine lines appearing—especially around the eye area—as early as in their late teens. Although modern technology allows beauty innovations to fight off wrinkles, we think it's best to start as soon as you spot signs of premature aging. If you find yourself in a fine lines and wrinkles situation as early as now, don't worry because we've got you, Candy Girls! So, read on as Dr. Raissa Francisco-Pasion tells us what you should do to fight off fine lines and wrinkles.
Q: I'm only 20 and I can see fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes already. What do I do?
Dr. Raissa: The area around the eyes is often the first to show signs of aging because the skin around it is very thin. Start investing in a good eye cream—look for ones that contain hyaluronic acid, peptides or retinol. These ingredients help plump up the under eye area and stimulate collagen formation. Make sure to use sunscreen daily and throw on a big pair of sunglasses if you find yourself heading out under the sun because squinting can aggravate fine lines and wrinkles, too. There are many in-office treatments that dermatologists perform for aging in the eye area, but it's best to get these basics down first.
