Beauty Q&A: I Have Cellulite! What Should I Do?

Cellulite is one of the most common beauty problem girls of all ages and sizes face. Just like most beauty problems, cellulite can be a huge confidence downer. So to help you better understand this beauty problem, we asked Dr. Raissa Francisco-Pasion what exactly causes cellulites and what you can do to get rid of it.
Q: I have cellulite! What should I do?
Dr. Raissa: First, realize that you are not the only one with this concern. 90% of women have cellulite, and the cause is often our genes, hormones, and body anatomy. Most women will just accept this as a part of their body and opt not to do any treatments, and there's nothing wrong with that. The treatment for cellulite is challenging. Exercise, weight loss, and strengthening the muscles in your legs, thighs, buttocks, and abdomen can improve the appearance of cellulite, but it won't go away completely. Many creams have claimed to get rid of cellulite but most of these are ineffective. Doctors are now studying the effects of lasers and radiofrequency treatments on reducing cellulite. Results seem to be promising, although improvements are still not permanent and only lasts a couple of months.Â
