Even if you've got a great hair routine locked down, experiencing a dry scalp situation is pretty much inevitable. Although this hair dilemma is common during the colder months, excessive heat the summer season is most likely to cause can cause your scalp to dry, in turn making your hair look dull and lifeless, too! Since the beginning of the summer season has already proven too hot to bear, we went ahead and asked celebrity hairstylist Mark Rosales what you should do in case you encounter a dry scalp.
Q: How do I fix a dry scalp?
Mark: To fix a dry scalp, the first thing that you have to do is deal with the basics, aka your shampoo and conditioner. When shampooing your hair, use a sulfate-free product to help retain the natural nutrients of your hair while cleansing it. Although this may sound tasking, getting a hair mask treatment every two weeks should also help in locking in moisture in your scalp. When styling your hair, always remember to use a heat protecting product first to avoid causing any hair damage on top of the natural heat of the sun. Lastly, always remember to drink at least eight glasses of water a day to keep your hair hydrated. After all, well hydrated hair always equates to happy hair!
