"Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!"
If you don't want to have dull and flaky skin, invest in a good moisturizer that complements your skin type. There are different kinds of moisturizer: ointments, creams, and lotions–if you're unsure what to use, talk to your dermatologist first.
"Try to get a complete 8-hour sleep."
Many of you take sleep for granted, but what you didn't know that it has a lot of benefits. Getting ample shuteye improves your mood, spurs your creativity, lowers stress, and can repair your skin cells overnight. "When you're tired, blood doesn't flow efficiently," says Michael Breus, MD, author of Beauty Sleep, so it's important that you get enough rest for glowing skin.
"Don't forget to drink a lot of water."
Hydrating yourself also hydrates your skin making them look radiant and supple. "Without adequate water intake, skin appears duller, and wrinkles and pores more prominent," says Rachel Nazarian, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist at the Schweiger Dermatology Group in New York City and an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital.
"Always wash your face at the end of the day."During your commute, your face is exposed to dust and air pollution. Washing your face before going to bed is advised so that dirty particles won't thrive on your skin while you sleep.
