You can actually get away without having a full, head-to-toe Halloween costume if your face is already crazy awesome. If your makeup's on point, it's possible to improvise or modernize a character's outfit to suit your comfort level (and of course, your budget!). Sometimes, you don't even need to be a recognizable character. If your makeup's stunning, people are going to stop and stare and take pictures anyway. (Case in point: In 2009, I went as a Roy Lichtenstein pop art comic book girl, complete with the red dots and the lines. Only my artist and hipster friends knew who I was—"Hey, Lichtenstein! That’s awesome!," but even people who didn't were pointing me out as I walked past.)
Regular makeup can seem hard enough to do, so costume makeup may look even more challenging in comparison. Fact: It's not. These three looks require minimal makeup (well, okay, one of them will require quite a bit), and are so easy, anyone can do them at home in less than 15 minutes. (I did!)
