12 Things Girls Who Struggle with Beauty Can Relate To
I can still remember the day when I sneaked in to my mom's vanity to try on some lipstick. I could almost swear that they were glowing, no, sparkling—they were calling me. I took the brightest shade of red I could find, smeared it all over my mouth, and ran up to my dad asking, "Am I beautiful?" Needless to say, I looked like a clown that day. I would like to think I've come a long way from that, but I still look at the world of beauty the same way: a mix of one-part wonder, one-part curiosity and ten parts what-am-I-supposed-to-do-with-this-now.
1 Trying to draw on Cara Delevingne's eyebrows reminds you of all the times you struggled with Crayola in pre-school.
I'm too old for this.
2 After 30 minutes of trying to copy that EASY waterfall braid tutorial, you contemplate on whether or not life would be easier if you shaved your head.
3 When people invite you to a party, you immediately think about all that makeup, and immediately consider saying no.
4 When you say yes, you try to be a good girl and apply your makeup and then...
Okay, okay. I'm going! I'm going!
5 Plucking to try to even out your eyebrows = two hours of grocery shopping = running a marathon
6 Smudging your nail polish after hours of hard work physically hurts.
7 When you try to apply false lashes on your own, and you forget that you're supposed to apply them with your eyes open.
Help? Is anyone there?
8 When you poke your eye while trying to apply eyeliner.
9 Cat eyes. Enough said.
10 When your cat eye is on point–"I am never going to take this off. Sorry, shower."
You can't make me! (P.S. We really encourage daily bathing)
11 Sometimes, it seems like your guy friends know more about beauty than you do.
12 Those makeup tutorials...
That's what matters, right?
