Kapuso actress Ysabel Ortega is very open about her relationship with her parents, mom Michelle Ortega and Dad Lito Lapid. In a recent Q&A video uploaded on her YouTube channel, the rising actress even got candid about what she thinks of her mom, which caused the actress to shed a few tears.
Ysabel's relationship with her mom
According to Ysabel, her mom is also like a best friend to her. In the video, she explains how it was easy for her to talk to her mom when she was growing up to the point that it felt like she was talking to a friend. But aside from being a best friend to her, Ysabel also felt like her mom stood as a dad for her. An emotional Ysabel shares, "My favorite thing about my mom is that she was also my dad."
When her relationship with her dad got a bit rocky, Ysabel explains that it was her mom that she got really close to. She considers her mom as her rock and understands it even if she is sometimes strict with her. "I know that she wants the best for me and I know na everything that she does is because she loves me."

Ysabel was also asked about her relationship with her dad and she answered it head on. According to her, her relationship with her dad is "okay" even though they don't get to talk as much these days.
"Never naman nagkulang yung dad ko," Ysabel explains. "When it comes to our personal relationship in the past few years, it was a bit rocky. Recently, I think 2019, we got to talk again. We got to see each other again and it was good."
She was also thankful for the presence of her stepdad Greg whom she shares a close bond with. "I'm very grateful, because I have two dads right now," says Ysabel.
