Numerous new love teams sprung to life this 2022, but KDLex is arguably the fastest rising pair among all of them. Even after KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad left the Pinoy Big Brother house, the love team’s fan base just kept growing and growing. With their undeniable chemistry and legion of loyal fans, it’s no surprise that they’re starring in a new television series under ABS-CBN.
While waiting for the show’s release on May 21, we've already picked up a few deets from the newly-released trailer. Keep reading to see everything we know about Run to Me so far:
1. The show is KDLex’s official debut love team project.
When the show was first teased on social media this year, it was recognized as the love team’s official debut project. In fact, the show was formerly announced with the title More Than Words during its early stages of production.
2. It will be produced by three different collaborators.
According to the story conference last March, the series will be produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, iWantTFC, and Kumu. ICYDK, Dreamscape Entertainment previously produced FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and The Broken Marriage Vow, while He’s Into Her and Bola Bola were released under iWantTFC. Given the overwhelming success of these other shows, we won’t be surprised if Run to Me turns out to be a blockbuster as well! It also doesn’t hurt that the show’s director, Dwein Ruedas-Baltazar, was the brains behind local films Gusto Kita With All My Hypothalamus and Oda Sa Wala.
3. KD and Alexa will play two characters from different backgrounds.
While Alexa’s character Jewel is a privileged influencer with a huge online following, KD’s character Wilson is struggling to make ends meet for his ailing mother. The two teens first encounter each other when Wilson mistakenly attempts to save Jewel from a staged kidnapping that she planned. This “not-so-perfect situation” is the funny yet endearing start to the pair’s inevitable love story, making it the lighthearted rom-com we all need!
4. The soundtrack was composed and performed by KD and Alexa.
Last February, KD and Alexa composed and recorded a love song called “Misteryo.” The upbeat pop song narrates the enchanting and thrilling feelings that two people experience when they naturally fall in love with each other. Without a doubt, its sweet melody and kilig-inducing lyrics perfectly fit the show’s feel-good plot!
5. It will feature up-and-coming actors and veteran stars alike.
We’re certainly looking forward to seeing KD and Alexa’s on-screen chemistry, but we’re just as excited to watch the supporting cast. Expect budding stars like CJ Navato, Karl Gabriel, Ivan Carapiet, Margaux Montana, and Henz Villaraiz to share the spotlight with veteran actors Nikki Valdez and Malou Crisologo. So happy for all of them!
