Alternate universes play a big part in The Flash, and the last two episodes took Team Flash to Earth 2, where the tech is as advanced as the aesthetics are vintage. It was pretty interesting to see how the other half lived. In Earth 2, Barry Allen was never struck by lightning, but he’s just as geeky and pure of heart as the Barry we know.
He's married to Iris West, who's a detective (instead of a reporter), and his mom is very much alive in this world. It's interesting to note how he has a great relationship with the two women who got away from our earth’s Barry, but doesn't have the father-son bond that our Barry and Joe have. Guess you can't have it all even in an alternate universe!
As for the rest of Team Flash, not all of them are on the good side, as we saw in super villains Caitlin Snow a.k.a. Killer Frost, Cisco Ramon a.k.a. Reverb, and Ronnie Raymond a.k.a. Deathstorm.
Against all odds, the team was able to carry out their mission in Earth 2 and return to their world, but we're pretty sure they'll drop by the alternate universe again. Or maybe visit a different one! The possibilities are endless.
All of this has us thinking what we'd do if we ever found a portal to a different world. Barry and Cisco's first order of business was to take a selfie, and we'd probably do the same, then look for our counterparts. Who are they? Do we have the same name? What college did they choose to go to? How’s their relationship with the family? Are they dating anyone? What music do they like? How do they take their coffee? We'll never know unless a portal opens up in our world—but in the meantime, we can live vicariously through Barry and his team!
