While the local showbiz industry is brimming with young newcomers, there are also those who began their careers at an early age. One such promising talent is child actress Mutya Orquia. Does her name ring a bell?Â
If it does, then you’ve probably seen her on TV back in the 2010s. She’s best known for playing the titular role in Mutya, but she was also the young Jade Dimagiba in My Binondo Girl in 2011.Â
One year later, she played Abby in Be Careful With My Heart and received the Best Child Performance award at the 4th FMTM Awards. Wow, imagine being an award-winning actress at five years old!Â
She continued to play the younger versions of leading ladies in Wildflower, Maalaala Mo Kaya, and Ipaglaban Mo. Plus, she was also a Goin’ Bulilit regular alongside fellow child actor Bugoy Carino!Â
Now a 16-year-old teen actress, Mutya has recently left ABS-CBN to join TV5 Network. Her latest role is Veronica in Niña Niño, a drama-comedy series that stars Maja Salvador and Noel Comia Jr.Â
Acting gigs aside, Mutya is also pretty active on social media! She has a YouTube channel with over 200,000 subscribers, as well as an *aesthetic* Instagram account with more than half a million followers.Â
We don’t know what else the future has in store for this budding it-girl, but we’re certain that she has a promising career ahead of her!Â
