In the fast-moving showbiz world, it’s always impressive when former child stars somehow manage to maintain their popularity all the way to their young adult years.Â
Gen Z celebrities like Andrea Brillantes, Sharlene San Pedro, and Alexa Ilacad have now become household names, though you can probably still recall watching them in Goin’ Bulilit back in the day.Â
But do you remember the adorable actress who played Cruzita, the on-screen daughter of Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes in Marimar? We’re referring to Chesca Salcedo in case you’ve forgotten—and she’s actually all grown up now!Â
Before we get into what the 20-year-old has been up to lately, here’s a quick refresher course on her past projects:Â
Only five years old at the time, Chesca quickly rose to popularity following her Marimar stint in 2007. She soon worked on other GMA television shows, including Trudis Liit, Rosalinda, Amaya, and Panday Kids.Â
She was even a commercial actress for McDonald’s! She looks super adorbs here, don’t you think?Â
As a teen actress, Chesca’s big break came when she joined the cast of the supernatural series Kambal Karibal. Playing the iconic role of Norilyn, Chesca got the opportunity to work alongside Bianca Umali, Kyline Alcantara, and other rising stars.Â
Since then, she has gone on to appear in Black Lipstick, The Heiress, Unconditional, and The Lost Recipe.Â
FYI, she’s also quite the social media darling. While she has a TikTok account brimming with gaming-related content and cute dance snippets, she also posts pretty selfies and cop-worthy OOTDs on Instagram.Â
Simply put, Chesca is now a full-fledged Gen Z celebrity. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for this rising it-girl!Â
