WATCH: Sa Wakas

Why you should catch this play on its last weekend.

Take the heartfelt and heartbreaking songs of Sugarfree, mix it in with a story about relationships, of how you fall in and out of love, and you get the Pinoy Rock Musical, Sa Wakas.

We caught it on its last weekend and we think you should too. Here's why we think it's worth catching (they still have four shows left this weekend!).

The music. Whether or not you're a Sugarfree fan, it's hard not to be moved by their songs. With topics such as love (unrequited and otherwise) and loss, you'll be able to relate to them in one way or another. And though the songs used were all written and released at a different time, we love how they were arranged to tell a story without feeling contrived.

The actors. There's a photographer, a neuro-surgeon, and a writer—today's career-driven generation, well-represented. We caught the show with Fred Lo, Caisa Borromeo, and Kyla Rivera and they did an amazing job at portraying their roles. Watch as insecurities, trust issues, and miscommunication play out in the relationships of these three characters.

The story. Love stories can be easy enough: boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, and then they get their Happily Ever After. But in real life, love can be hurtful, messy, and complicated. And that's what makes this story different. We love how it wasn't told from beginning to end or that it wasn't simple at all. We won't go into details because it might ruin your viewing experience, but trust us when we say, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how this play begins and ends.

You can still catch Sa Wakas at PETA Theater Center this weekend. For show times and tickets, log on to the Sa Wakas website.
