Boy meets girl. A movie about a boy meeting a girl is typical as typical can get, but Dinig Sana Kita is far from being typical. Kiko (Romalito Mallari) is a Deaf dancer and Niña (Zoe Sandejas) is a rocker chick. They both have family issues—Kiko trying to find his mother and Niña choosing to turn her back on hers. And when they meet in a camp in Baguio, their lives take an interesting turn.
You'll get by with a little help from your friends. Kiko and Niña as a tandem are fun to watch but what makes this movie even more entertaining are their friends! Watch for Kiko's two Deaf friends and Niña's bandmates. We can't help but laugh when they were onscreen. They were hilarious!
Music makes the world go 'round. Since Kiko is a dancer and Niña has a band, you should expect that music is a big part of the movie. One of the most beautiful scenes from the movie is when Niña plays the guitar while Kiko touches it to "hear" the music (check out the movie poster). Director Mike Sandejas mentions in their Facebook page that Sugarfree's beautiful song "Wag Ka Nang Umiyak" inspired the movie's spirit. There are songs performed by Niña (composed by Francis Reyes) and a special performance by Sugarfree is something you can look forward to.
