Is this the real life or is this just fantasy? If you're a fan of the local band and a K-pop stan, here's a bit of good news: Homegrown band Ben&Ben came through and made a cover of K-pop songs! In case you missed it, K-pop idols from groups like TWICE and NCT found out about Ben&Ben's beautiful songs and played them on their individual livestreams, which in turn made Ben&Ben trend on South Korea's top music streaming platform. That's a pretty big deal!
As a way of saying thank you, the band decided to cover songs from these groups and added their signature sound in the first episode of their BBTV. For the first song, the group covered NCT Dream's "Beautiful Time" (NCTzens, how're we doing?). "Studying the lyrics, it was beautiful," shares vocalist Miguel Benjamin. "It was cool because the groove of the syllables had a swing to it." They also gave a shoutout to members Mark, Renjun, and Chenle who played Ben&Ben's songs during their livestreams and radio stints.
For the second song, Ben&Ben added an accoustic and sensual twist to one of Red Velvet's most popular songs, "Bad Boy," and we are just speechless. Of course, they also covered "You Were Beautiful" by K-band Day6 and gave a special shoutout to member Young K. The band said it was a favorite of theirs and complimented the Korean band's songwriting. They also mentioned they'd love to do a Filipino version, too!
To end their first ever episode, the group did their version of TWICE's latest release, "Feel Special!" K-pop fans are probably left wanting more!
