Pinoy Big Brother has introduced some of the brightest stars of this generation, from Maymay Entrata and Joshua Garcia to Lou Yanong, Heaven Peralejo, and more. But while it's their respective stints in Bahay ni Kuya that put them in the public eye, it's definitely their talents and how they navigate their careers after that truly solidify their place in the local entertainment industry. And Vivoree Esclito is one PBB alum who has proven that she has what it takes to stay in the limelight--while staying true to herself.
Below, seven things to know about our former EyeCandy and the official Go Getter Girl ng Bohol:
1. Vivoree is incredibly family-oriented, and devotes her career to her loved ones.
Vivoree is the eldest of three children. Her mom's a public school teacher while her dad's a seafarer. Originally a Bohol native, the young actress moved back to her hometown to be with her family during the lockdown.
While in quarantine, she's been keeping herself busy by learning how to speak Spanish, reading books, playing her guitar, and watching movies with her fam. She also started an IG account under the handle @survstories where she posts her poems, short stories, and lyrics.
2. Legit: She shows grace under pressure.
The ABS-CBN Ball (formerly known as the Star Magic Ball) is one of the most highly-anticipated celebrity events annually, with stars working with A-list designers and getting expensive skin treatments weeks to hours before the event to make sure they look their best. The pressure can also be enough to turn any star into a full blown diva nightmare, but not Vivoree, despite encountering a fashion emergency and having to attend the ball in an unfinished gown.
Vanessa Mercado, Vivoree's stylist, took to Twitter and applauded the young actress for keeping her composure throughout the night.
"Shout out to my muse, Vivoree, who never threw tantrums and never complained despite yesterday’s mishap," Mercado wrote. "She even said she just wanted to make everyone proud whatever happens. My admiration and respect for you multiplied a thousand times. You’re such an inspiration!"
3. ICYDK: Vivoree can sing, dance, AND act.
A definite triple threat. In 2020 alone, Vivoree starred in episodes of BL series Hello Stranger, The Killer Bride, and Maalala Mo Kaya.
You can also check out her YouTube channel where she regularly posts covers and other personal projects.
4. Aside from being talented, she's very ~mature~ and has a positive outlook on work (even when the going gets tough).
When asked during her eyeCandy shoot about how she overcomes feelings of self-doubt in such a cutthroat industry, Vivoree says: “‘Pag wala akong mga projects, ‘yon talaga ang lowest point ko sa career ko but I don’t take it as a disadvantage. I actually use it as a learning process. Gusto ko na ‘pag wala akong ginagawa when it comes to work, gusto ko na mas ma-hone pa ang skills ko, gawin ang best ko, para ma-improve pa yung sarili ko.”
5. Her professionalism shows even in interviews, making her half of one of the *chillest* love teams in showbiz today.
Not all love teams need to go from reel to real to be successful (case in point: John Lloyd and Bea, and the more recent AlDub). What matters is that they respect each other and can work well together.
Vivoree's current on-screen partner is Hashtag member CK aka Charles Kieron. They first worked together in an episode of Ipaglaban Mo, before fully committing to the partnership in Since I Found You. Despite dating rumors that swarm all love teams, the two have maintained that they're simply good friends, and it's easy to see in their interviews that they're very comfortable around each other. More power to 'em!
6. Despite being a celebrity, she's just like any other young adult.
“Having fun, I think it’s the most teenage thing I do,” she said in an interview with Candy. The actress turned 20 this year, but something tells us she'll keep having fun whatever phase she enters in her career.
Aside from enjoying life, Vivoree also knows to work hard in school. She graduated senior high in May 2020 and was given two awards, the “Character Award: Generosity” and the “Academic Award: Philippine Politics and Governance.”
7. Speaking of being ~normal~, her worst fear? Spiders!
Answering 28 questions with CK, Vivoree revealed that she's afriad of spiders. In the same interview, we also discovered that she loves chips, toyo (lol), dreams of going skydiving, and that she is happiest when she makes other people happy. Aww, whattagirl!
CanB is finally here! If you're an aspiring writer, vlogger, artist, or kahit marami ka lang talagang time, submit your entries here and make your mark in the Candy community! Share your feels, show your skills. Don't worry—we won't judge. ;)
