The Virlanie Foundation Inc. is the largest non-secretarian child caring institution in the country. It is devoted to serving children found living in the streets and guides them to prevent them from future physical and psychological abuse. The Virlanie Foundation, Inc.’s basic vision and goal is to empower children for a brighter future and extend developmental services to children for them to become self-reliant, productive, independent individual using the family atmosphere and reintegration to normal community life.
Now that Virlanie is celebrating their 18th anniversary, they would like to celebrate it with the people who donated to show gratitude and those who would like to help the foundation in the future. “Debut: Celebrating Smiles and New Beginnings” is dubbed to be the “only charity debut of the year” will help fund the foundation and the L’Envol Home, which the home for Virlanie young adults (ages 18-21) as they prepare to move on to independent living outside the Virlanie’s Homes. The event will take place on July 17, 2010 at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza’s Harbour Garden. The theme of the charity event will be a masquerade, as it will unmask the phenomenon and facts of street children in the Philippines while it reveals the works of Virlanie through the years. An exhibit about street children and their success stories will be one of the highlights of the event.
