Whether you’re a resident of Pasig City or not, we’re sure you’ve heard stories about how the city government is handling the COVID-19 crisis. Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto regularly holds Facebook Lives to remain transparent about their efforts and communicate with Pasig residents regarding any inquiries they may have about it.
In a Facebook Live held on May 5, 2020, the city mayor was explaining about the supplemental Social Amelioration Program (SAP) which will allow families to receive financial aid from the city government. The issuance of the cash assistance will be done house-to-house and, as of May 5, is already underway.
One concerned netizen, however, raised the question of whether condos are included in the program, and seeing as he had just answered the same query, Mayor Vico didn’t hold back and low-key snapped, saying, “Kakasabi ko lang, lahat nga kasama e. Kung ‘di ba naman mamuti buhok ko dito.” He's totally not having it--pati siya, natawa na lang din!
With so many things on his plate and so many questions from the people he’s serving, you can totally understand the mayor’s frustration over having to repeat his explanation. The mayor even explained the situation on Twitter, “Ito yung muntikan ako masiraan ng ulo dahil kakasabi ko pa lang na, ‘Lahat kwalipikado,’ may nag-comment na, ‘ah so malalagpasan ulit kaming nasa condo.’ Tapos tawa pa [nang] tawa yung mga staff.”
Of course, his savagery was done out of amusement. It’s definitely a welcome breather to an otherwise serious FB Live. In an earlier FB Live session, he even jokingly reminded the viewers to still take a bath despite being stuck at home. We love a concerned mayor!
The mayor also cleared the air with the very person he snapped at, and in the end, it was all good.
Siyempre, ‘di makakalagpas si Mayor Vico without people making memes out of it. People have already made TikToks about that particular moment.

Kidding aside, the Pasig City mayor has been hard at work in addressing the COVID-19 outbreak within the city. Aside from mobilizing the the supplemental SAP, he’s been holding meetings with medical experts for the city’s centralized quarantine facility and spearheading PUI testing.
