6 Useful iPhone Hacks You Should Know About
While iPhones are known for their camera quality and clean interface, not many may know that the mobile device and the iOS that comes with it also offer ~a lot~ of features for users to have a hassle-free experience. iPhones don't come cheap, so you might as well make the most out of its features and use them. Here are some helpful hacks you might not know about:
Take a photo using the volume button
When you're trying to take a selfie but the angle you're taking it from makes it hard for you to hit that white shutter button, you can use the upper volume button as the clicker instead.
Use the keyboard as a cursor
When you want to edit a certain part of the text you're typing, you can use the keyboard as an instant cursor. Just hold down on any part of your keyboard and move your finger sideways to navigate.
When you need to type long but important details repeatedly, the text replacement is a helpful feature. You can assign a certain 'shortcut' to change to a different text when you type it. For instance, when you have to type in your long e-mail address, you can just assign a simple three-letter combination so that when you type it, it will automatically be replaced with your e-mail. You can add as many shortcuts and text replacements as you want. To do so, just go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement.
Hold down the shutter button to capture in burst
If you want to take lots of shots in a short amount of time without tiring your finger out by clicking repeatedly, just hold down the shutter button and it will automatically take burst shots.
Set a timer for your music
If you want your music to stop after a certain time has passed, you can use the built-in Timer feature of iPhones to stop your music player. Just go to the Timer option (in the Clock app) > click When Timer Ends > set it to Stop Playing. This can apply to any music apps like Apple Music even Spotify (Do note, though, that Spotify has its own Timer feature). It also applies to video streaming apps like YouTube.
Shake to undo
iPhones don't really come with an undo button when you're typing, but there is a feature that allows you to do just that by shaking your phone. To activate this feature, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Shake to Undo.
