ICYMI, Pinoy Big Brother announced their newest batch of teen housemates on March 7. Among one of the budding reality stars is Ashton Salvador, who also happens to be Daniel Padilla’s 18-year-old maternal cousin.
“Lagi po akong pinagkakamalan na parang siga po, masungit po, dahil po sa itsura ko, sa pagkaseryoso ko lagi ‘pag kausap ako. Gusto ko pong makita na hindi po ako ganoon. Eto po ako, maayos po akong tao,” Ashton said in his PBB introduction video last Monday.
Introduced as the “Shy Dreamboy ng Quezon City,” Ashton will be joined by other young personalities like TikTok influencer Maxine Trinidad and former MNL48 idol Gabb Skribikin.
Wondering about why his name sounds familiar? Ashton is also set to star in iWantTFC’s Bola Bola alongside KD Estrada, Akira Morishita, and Francine Diaz. Prior to that, he also appeared in teleserye Huwag Kang Mangamba as an Ekis Gang member.
He and his older sister Analain Salvador officially launched their showbiz careers in 2021 upon joining Star Magic’s newly-minted Squad Plus. Formerly known as The Gold Squad, Squad Plus consists of 13 teen stars in-the-making, including singer Sam Cruz and actress Alyanna Angeles.
“Hindi ko na-imagine na papasok ako sa ganitong industriya ng pag-aartista. Kinakabahan pa rin ako. Gusto ko din naman talaga kaso mahiyain ako kaya medyo nahirapan din ako pumasok kasi hindi ko kaya magpakita sa camera,” Ashton said in a Squad Plus interview last year, referring to the high expectations that come with being showbiz royalty.
Ashton also once shared that he dreams of acting in an action film someday, but he enjoys playing the guitar and jamming to his favorite bands as well.
Given his charming personality and family showbiz background, it’s clear that Ashton has a promising future in the entertainment industry!
