There’s more to this 18 year old than being a reality TV star. She’s got the talent to actually ride out the tough showbiz industry. She trained for Now United.

Now United is a global pop group composed of teens from various countries around the world. It’s created by Simon Fuller, the same person behind American Idol and Spice Girls. Before debuting the final lineup, the group shortlisted potential members to train with industry professionals, and Ylona along with fellow Star Magic artists were a few of the selected trainees.

She’s internet friends with a K-pop idol.

Ylona and K-pop idol Somi follow each other on Insta and have been seen showing each other support on the app for their respective music careers. In an interview, Ylona shared that the K-Pop idol had commented on one of her posts. She decided to send her a DM and they've been chatting online ever since! Somi was a former member of girl group IOI before becoming a solo artist under The Black Label, a subsidiary record label of Blackpink’s agency YG Entertainment.

Her song “Lie So Well” is actually aimed at herself.

In an online interview with PEP.ph, Ylona shared the story behind her songs, one of which is the single “Lie So Well.” According to Ylona, it was actually a song pertaining to herself. “The story behind that is just me going through a very, very bitter phase where I was lying to myself… I was just not happy with who I was,” she shared. “Kasi I wasn’t being honest with myself, so that’s how I created ‘Lie So Well.’ So parang it was a slap to my face saying, ‘Ylona, be honest with yourself.’”

Ylona comes from a huge fam and she has big dreams for them.

Ylona is the third of five siblings, but most of them are based in Australia. In a previous interview with Boy Abunda, Ylona revealed her dream of buying a big house for her entire family to live in in both the Philippines and Australia. Get it, girl!

Ylona joined Pinoy Big Brother 737 in 2015 and gained a fanbase thanks to her mature and positive disposition.

The 'Daldal Darling ng Australia' was the runner-up of her PBB season and was in good terms with her housemates. Fans adored her mature and kind demeanor even at a young age.

During her stint, she developed a showmance with fellow teen housemate Bailey May (who finished fourth). Their love team didn't last however, but the two appears to remain amicable with each other.

“We’re still good friends. We don’t talk much kasi busy siya.

“Pero it’s okay. We’re friends. I feel like we don’t need much communication. We already know that.

“We’re both doing good. We’re just really good friends and we would like to keep it that way,” Ylona once said in an interview.
