Mobile games have taken over 2020. Games have been one of the activities that kept people occupied at home, especially the ones that are readily downloadable and free to play on mobile devices. It's even beenĀ integrated into academic curriculum and has also becomeĀ a new way of connecting and bonding with friends. That said, there have been a few standout games that took over 2020.Ā
The usual faves like PUBG, Candy Crush, and Pokemon GO remain on the list of popular games this year. But according to a report by analytics company App Annie, there are a few breakout games that boomed in 2020, including recent fan favorites. The games listed in the report include Among Us,Ā My Talking Tom Friends, ROBLOX, and Call of Duty: Mobile.

Among Us needs no introduction and there's no surpise thatĀ it is among the breakout games of 2020. Two years after its initial release, the mobile game saw a substantial amount of growth during the pandemic. The game became so popular that it spurred viral memes and real-life adaptations.

My Talking Tom Friends
My Talking Tom Friends is a mobile game inspired by the animated series Talking Tom and Friends. According to App Annie, it was only launched in February 2020, but it quickly became the 8th most downloaded game globally this year. The gameĀ features the show's characters and players can do various activities around the house, dress up the characters, explore the town, and even play mini games.
