The 3-piece band LANY (pronounced lay-knee) has finally released their first full-length self-titled album. The American alternative from LA was formed back in 2014 and has since released 4 EPs (Acronyms, I Loved You, Make Out, and ILSYB) before releasing LANY featuring 16 tracks. Paul Jason Klein (lead vocals, keyboard, guitar), Jake Clifford Goss (drums, Roland SPD-SX), and Les Priest (keyboards, guitar, backup vocals) were in Manila last March for Wanderland and they're headed back to our shores this August for a series of mall shows to promote their album.

The first track ("Dumb Stuff") will remind you of that moment you first realize that the person you've been staying up late talking to about every random thing ever might be more than a friend. You know what we're talking about. Every notif makes your heart skip a beat, expecting his or her name to pop up when your phone lights up. And who doesn't love that natural high you get from falling in love ("ILYSB")? That ache in your heart, the kind of hurt that's so bad, it's good.

But like any love story, nothing's ever perfect. There are relationships that might be one-sided (All my friends keep saying that I'm way too good to you/But my heart is so invested I don't wanna face the truth/I'm not happy and you know it and you still don't even try/Broken down, I've had enough/If this is love, I don't want it, "Super Far"); there are those you work so hard to keep together (A text, a call, another fight/I'm always first to apologize/I never know which you I'll get/Am I the only one who gives a shit?, "Tampa"); and those that make you realize you take the good with the bad (Please tell me why it's easy at first/But then it all breaks/The more you love, the more it hurts, "Hurts").

There isn't just one kind of breakup either. You're probably all too familiar with the one that keeps you going back to where you started (Where did we go wrong? I know we started out alright/Where did we go wrong? I swear I knew we'd last this time, "13"); or the one when you put the blame on each other ('Cause our home's a wreck, look at this mess./You blame it on disobedience/But I think it's time, time you realized/You're the one in the wrong, "Hericane"); and who hasn't experienced losing their trust in someone (You prayed to God and I trusted that/I gave it up and now I can't ever get it back, "Overtime")?

And no one really forgets their first love, do they? Back when you thought the world of each other and that your love would never ever end (It was love/I know you know that/It was us/I wish I could go back/To sneaking around at night/And thinking we had our whole lives, "It Was Love"). Because we all want to believe #MayForever. ♥

Hit the play button and go through the stages of love and heartbreak as told by the music of LANY.

LANY also released the music video for "Good Girls" days before the album dropped. Check it out below and make sure to stay till the end because...well, you'll see!

What did you think of the album? Are you watching them in August when they head back to Manila? Let's talk LANY below!
