At first, I didn't even know what K-Pop was. I thought they were just trying hard, pretty boys and girls who used their charms to woo their fans—but I was wrong, very wrong. Back in college, I had a friend who was obsessed with this 13-group boy group, and my initial reaction was, "How do you even remember all their names?!"

But when she showed me their music video, I was surprised with their performance. Slowly, I began to know their names, and before I knew it, I was already so deep into the fandom! Here are the stages you go through once you get hooked on being a fangirl:

The "Curiosity" Stage: This is where it all begins.

You're intrigued. You watch one performance, and bam! It has somehow sparked your interest and you're suddenly eyeing that boy with the cute smile and pink hair.

You begin "researching". The bubbly boy has gotten your attention, and you want to find out who he is. You go on your laptop and "investigate"—and a few hours after that, you already know his birthday, height, and how pretty his sister is. *sighs* This is where you also find out that they train for years before debuting.

The "Quicksand" Stage: You are slowly getting hooked.

You watch all the MVs of your new favorite group. Saturdays are spent glued to your computer and you start to list down your favorite members, but as you continue to watch, the guy with the amazing dance skills makes your heart flutter. #BiasWrecker

Tumblr starts to become your new best friend. For all those winking and skinship GIFs you can look at over and over again.

You decide to make a LiveJournal account. For what? To read all those amaaaazing fanfics!

Most of your allowance and hard spent money go to KPop merchandise. From light sticks to photo albums, you have them all. You even buy several albums just in case you didn't get your bias's photo card or you meet up with other fans to have it exchanged.

You wait for comebacks... and even do a countdown for it. You save up on your data so you could watch it on your phone just in case they release the MV when you're at school.

The "Drowning" Stage.

Just when you were about to recover from your favorite band, a new group debuts and you're sitting there obviously intrigued on who they are. You try your best not to stan them but you know deep in your heart that their song will be your next jam—and the next thing you know, you're back in stage one. Like they say, once you get into K-Pop fandom, it will be hard to leave. Look at me, I'm still and will always be a fan.
