  1. JaDine

They started in 2014, skyrocketed in 2015, and there's nowhere to go but up this 2016 for love team James Reid and Nadine Lustre. This year, there were a series of Jadine in Love concerts, a book, a new teleserye, a hit movie, and the newest endorsers for the top real estate company in the country. And we'll never forget that iconic moment in Araneta Coliseum when reel turned into real.

  1. Selena Gomez

She kicked off this year as a guest performer for Saturday Night Live, but had to cancel her tour mid-year due to her admission of anxiety and depression due to her lupus. But just like a real lotus, Selena rose and gave that memorable speech upon receiving her American Music Award just last month, proving that you can't keep a great woman down.

  1. Liza Soberano

The moment she stepped on that red carpet, an iconic moment was born. Liza's Star Magic Ball appearance was THE talk of the town everywhere. A thousand memes, copycats, comments, and tweets were already launched after that.  We think it’s safe to say that it is definitely THE most iconic Star Magic Ball Look of All Time!

  1. Taylor Swift

While her album 1989 was so 2015, Taylor was still in the headlines throughout this year. First, there was the fight with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West over the lyrics of "Famous." Then there was the breakup with Calvin Harris. And then there was the whole Tom Hiddleston stage. Sure, it wasn't always the nicest of publicity for Tay-Tay, but it's just another guarantee that every move she makes, it will always have everyone buzzing!

  1. ElNella

Since Elmo Magalona transferred to the Kapamilya network November of last year, his star shone brighter this year, all thanks to that wonderful pairing with Janella Salvador. Both are musically-inclined, both are celebrity kids, and both have the talents to back it up as proven by their pairings in the primetime drama Born For You and Wansapanataym series Holly and Mau. We're also sure their toothpaste endorsement easily puts up a smile every time you see it on TV!

  1. JC Santos

At the start of this year, Dulaang UP's JC Santos was more known for his works in local play productions and his string of indie films under his belt. Mid-2016 when he became a household name by playing the unconventional "third party" to top loveteam James Reid and Nadine Lustre in the Kapamilya drama Till I Met You, where he played the gay character of Ali. Not only did Santos receive raves for his great acting, he was also commended for his even greater chemistry with Jadine.

  1. Elisse Joson

It all started with that one advertisement, and the rest, as they say, is history. But for the sake of validation why we think Elisse Joson had a great year, here's what happened in detail: after doing that advertisement, she went inside the most prominent house in the country. There, she was paired with Hashtag member McCoy de Leon. Her PBB stint made her not only a household name, but half of the McLisse pair, which is now touted as one of the pairs to watch out for this 2017!

  1. Gigi Hadid

Whether it's her #goals Instagram feed, her relationship with Zayn Malik, or her part of the #squad with Taylor Swift, we’re always keeping an eye and updated with all Gigi Hadid happenings. What earned her a spot on this list though was her brave confession of her battling Hashimoto's disease which would explain why she sometimes would look "too skinny" or at times "too fat" for a model. It was an eye-opening moment not only for her bashers, but for everyone to be comfortable with their own skin.
