Trippy is how most people describe Doctor Strange, Marvel's latest, most far-out story so far. The first few minutes take you right in the thick of the action, in pockets of space and time hidden from the world that we know. With concepts like astral bodies, time manipulation, and dimensions within dimensions, the movie needed someone to hold the viewer's hand and convince them to stay throughout the multiverse ride. Internet boyfriend Benedict Cumberbatch was the perfect person for the job, juggling arrogance, snark, and charm so deftly, opposite queen of microexpressions Tilda Swinton, Hannibal's enigmatic Mads Mikkelsen, and our forever favorite Rachel McAdams.
But the one character we didn’t expect to love so much was the Cloak of Invisibility. Red, reactive, and irreverent, it totally stole the show.
We had no doubt that Benedict could pull it off. He’s had a lot of practice after all.
In fact, we imagine that Sherlock would take quite an interest in Mister Doctor Strange’s cloak.
But awww, Sherlock’s equally iconic coat must be feeling left out!
Since we’ve opened our minds to multiverses, how about this crossover?
Now this crossover explains a lot. Pure genius.
Okay, one last thing about the cloak!
Doctor Strange is now showing in cinemas.
