When it comes to Pinoy leading men, one is spoiled for choice. Known as their generation’s most bankable young actors, the gents below rose to fame not just through their good looks but also with their impressive acting talent and irresistible charm!
We took a little trip down memory lane to recall the many moments they made us swoon in their TV series and movies, and it’s safe to say that they still got us *kilig* after all these years! Ahead, reminisce on five dreamboats from your teenage days, and also learn more about what they’re up to now.
4 leading men and where they are now:
1. Daniel Padilla
We first fell in love with Teen King Daniel Padilla in his role as angsty and affluent teen Gino in the hit series Princess and I. It’s also the first show he starred opposite his reel-to-real life sweetheart Kathryn Bernardo, birthing to their iconic loveteam KathNiel. As you probably know, they’re still together ten years later, and the spark hasn’t dimmed a bit! Their TV series 2 Good 2 Be True is consistently on top of Netflix’s most-watched, proving that their chemistry knows no timebound.
2. James Reid
James instantly won our hearts as he emerged as the Big Winner of PBB Teens in 2010. Four years after, he went on to become a household name alongside Nadine Lustre, starring opposite her in several hit projects including Diary ng Panget and Never Not Love You. The real-life couple might’ve broken up in 2020 and has led individual careers since then, but they still remained friends. Nowadays, James wears a different hat as a music label executive and has Liza Soberano and Issa Pressman on his impressive roster of talents.
3. Enrique Gil
Before LizQuen was a thing, Enrique was making waves as an actor-dancer known for his iconic dance moves in Teach Me How To Dougie and Gentleman. He also worked with Kath and DJ at one point in Princess and I, and with Julia Barretto in Mirabella. It was the success of his team-up with Liza Soberano in Forevermore that solidified his leading man status, though. During the pandemic, he took a break from showbiz due to safety reasons; but judging by his latest meet-up with Kapamilya bosses, rumor has it that he’s that going back to acting soon!
4. Alden Richards
If you haven’t heard of AlDub in 2015, then you might be living under the rock! The Kapuso actor, who was catapulted into household name status through his accidental team-up with Maine Mendoza a.k.a. Yaya Dub in Eat Bulaga, is known as one of GMA 7’s most bankable stars for years now. To this day, he still makes fans swoon over the characters he plays in teleseryes—an upcoming addition being 'Good Boy' Han Ji-pyeong in the highly-awaited Pinoy version of the hit Korean series Start-Up.
