Surviving a pandemic won’t just do without our frontliners. They deserve to be called heroes for risking their lives to make sure we’re safe at home every day. What better way to thank them with a random act of kindness!
Netizen Cha Calubaquib has set the perfect example when she ordered food via GrabFood on April 13. At first, she felt guilty for having someone travel from a far place just to deliver food right at her doorstep. So, she decided to return the favor by surprising her delivery rider with a treat! Cha tried ordering Baliwag lechon manok for her, the delivery rider, and frontliners working in her building. She almost gave up because booking was taking too long. Luckily, Andrew Cucal aka “Kuya Andrew” accepted her request.
When Kuya Andrew arrived with the food, Cha said "Boss, kain na rin po kayo ah." To which Kuya Andrew replied, "Sakto nga po, ma'am, kasi gutom na ako. Iuuwi ko na sana sa bahay namin pero may ide-deliver pa po ako tapos uwi na po ako. May ulam na po kami."
It was an awww moment when Cha later on got a message from Kuya Andrew. He sent selfies of him and his two kids enjoying their free ulam. Cha felt so happy for them but apologized for not being able to order rice. Kuya Andrew said “Okay lang po, nagsaing na po ako. Hahaha! Single parent po kasi ako kaya malaking tulong po talaga. Maraming, maraming salamat po."
In an online interview, Cha mentions that people are still messaging her, asking how they can help Kuya Andrew. A good deed can really go a long way!
