Taylor Swift: Backstage with the press at the 2011 AMAs
Taylor Swift won in all the categories she was nominated at the recently concluded American Music Awards: Artist of the Year, Favorite Country Female Artist, and Favorite Country Album. "This is so crazy!" she said.
Katy Perry, T-Swift's friend and co-nominee for Artist of the Year, tweeted a sweet message for her: "congrats girl. U wrote every single NOTE & LYRIC for Speak Now. That is not an easy feat. You deserve every bit of tonight."
At the awards show, Katy sang her new single, "The One That Got Away," and took home a special achievement award for being the first female pop singer to have five chart-topping singles off one album (Teenage Dream).
Other winners include Adele (Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album, and Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist), Nicki Minaj (Rap/Hip-Hop: Favorite Artist and Favorite Album), and Bruno Mars (Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist).
The AMAs were also studded with performances by Justin Bieber, Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5, Christina Aguilera, Chris Brown, Gym Class Heroes, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Marc Anthony, and The Band Perry.
