What It's Like to be Friends With Taylor Swift, According to Lorde
We know almost everyone who's in Taylor Swift's squad. But we've wondered for a long time what it actually feels like to be best friends with the music sensation whose face is almost everywhere! Lorde, one of Tay's BFFs ICYDK, spilled about their friendship during her interview with The Guardian. And turns out, there's really not much of a difference at all.
She says, "It's like having a friend with very specific allergies. There are certain places you can't go together. Certain things you can't do. There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It's like having a friend with an autoimmune disease."

Because both of them are famous (and Tay's actions are being watched 24/7!), there are really things they can't do and places they can't go to so as to avoid the paparazzi—because a little mistake might send off the wrong signal and stir up the weirdest headlines!
In reality, though, this friendship (or squads as we all like to call 'em) famous people have with each other is just a way for them to get some support. Aside from Tay, Lorde is also friends with Lena Dunham, Florence Welch (of Florence + The Machine), Tavi Gevinson, and a whole lot more!
"It's an element of wanting to stick together. Because it can be so scary to do this. These friendships, they're about having a hand put on your shoulder by someone who knows. They're about hearing, 'I've done it, too,'" Lorde explained.
Our conclusion? Of course, there's not much of a difference in the friendship we have with our BFFs vs. in the friendship Lorde has with Tay (and the rest of the squad). It's just that they're famous, that's all. But we all basically get in this circle because we seek the same things: support and love and care. ♥
