PSA, We Might Get a Karaoke Feature on Spotify Soon

With podcasts and relaxing ASMR sounds, you'll find literally everything you need on Spotify. There's a lot you can do on the streaming platform aside from listening to your favorite tracks, and it seems it's about to get better, especially for the frustated singers among us: developers of the app are said to be working on adding a karaoke feature.
Music Business Worldwide reports that the feature is currently in the works after seeing Jane Manchun Wong, an expert reverse engineer known for unearthing app features that are still works in progress, tweet about spotting the possible karaoke feature.
According to Wong, the feature will allow users to adjust the volume of the vocals while flashing the lyrics. Additionally, Wong states in an additional tweet that the lyrics will be generated from Musicxmatch, a popular catalog and source for song lyrics.
There's no official word yet about when and if the feature will really be made available to avid Spotify fans. One of the app's most notable updates in 2020 was when they added real-time lyrics to songs, also in partnership with Musicxmatch, which Wong has also pointed out as early as 2018.
Are you looking forward to this app update?
