For those hoping to use their voice in the next national elections, you'll soon be given a chance to finally register as a voter. ICYDK, voter registration will resume on September 1, 2020 except in areas that are under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) and modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).

Registration will be done from Tuesdays to Saturdays, and even during holidays. Special protocols are put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, such as wearing of face masks and face shields. If you do not comply with the protocols, you won't be able to proceed with the registration process. So if you're heading out to register, make sure you're equipped properly to make your trip worth it.

But in case you didn't know, you won't need to head out to register if you're already a voter in the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections. The process began during the 2019 Elections when the Commission in Elections (COMELEC) announced that, when registered SK voters turn 18, they will no longer need to register again as regular voters in the national elections.

"Comelec will automatically transfer records from the SK database to the official list of registered voters," says COMELEC Spokesman James Jimenez during an interview.

If you wish to be sure, however, you may also request for a voter's certification. Registered voters in areas under ECQ and MECQ are allowed to ask for the issuance of the certificate. Check this post from COMELEC's Facebook page for more details:
