#SentiSabado: 5 Local Teen Shows We Miss
We love watching teen shows the way we love eating large fries and a big slice of chocolate cake. Why? Because they give us a good amount of nostalgia, as we reminisce our own days of dealing with a lot of new things. Here are five of the teen shows that have made their marks in our lives, those that we'll forever miss. Cast reunion, anyone?
First Time (February-May 2010)
Stars: Joshua Dionisio, Barbie Forteza, Bea Binene, and Jake Vargas
We love how we reminisced all our firsts while watching this series: first love, first heartbreak, first kiss... just about every first we've had. How hit was this show to Pinoy fans? Let's just say that it launched the careers of GMA's leading tween stars. And we didn't even mind that the actors wore long sleeves to school in this kind of weather!
Reel Love Presents Tween Hearts (September 2010-June 2012)
Stars: Barbie Forteza, Bea Binene, Joshua Dionisio, Jake Vargas, Joyce Ching, Kristoffer Martin, Louise delos Reyes, Derrick Monasterio, and Lexi Fernandez
Ahhh, the teen barkada. Of course our lives wouldn't be complete without the friends we've known and shared our ups and downs with. What we love about Tween Hearts is the diversity of the characters who found comfort in each other, never allowing their differences to get in the way.
Growing Up (September 2011-February 2012)
Stars: Kathryn Bernardo, Julia Montes, Daniel Padilla, Diego Loyzaga, Neil Coleta, Yen Santos, EJ Jallorina, and Kiray Celis
Growing Up gave us another teen barkada to love. The show gave us the perfect mix of drama, comedy, romance, and everything in between. And we also love that they were super friends with their cool teachers who served as their guardian angels as they deal with the highs and lows of adolescence.
Got To Believe (August 2013-March 2014)
Stars: Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Ian Veneracion, Manilyn Reynes, Carmina Villaroel, and Benjie Paras
We loved Got To Believe because it was aired five times a week. Let's face it, it's super sad when we spend six days a week waiting for our fave shows to air on TV. It also gave us a feel-good story of two young people who loved each other truly, madly, deeply (LOL!). Ahh, now where can we find our very own Joaquin Manansala?
G-Mik (February 1999-November 2002)
Stars: Camille Pratts, John Pratts, Angelica Panganiban, Stefano Mori, and Carlo Aquino
Of course, we had to put this in here because it was launched on the same year Candy began. Remember JCS? The killer cutie trio made up of John, Carlo, and Stefano? We were so obsessed with the three boys and the show that we found ourselves purchasing the JCS studio album. And hello? Camille and Angelica were as cute as dolls in this show. Eep!
