The whole world freaked out when Taylor Lautner joined Scream Queens as Dr. Cassidy Cascade. Everyone clearly remembers Taylor from the Twilight Saga, including the writers of the show. In the very first episode, we were oh-so generously treated to the gem that is Jacob Black—oops, we mean Cassidy Cascade treating his first patient: a woman who suffered from hypertrichosis a.k.a. werewolf syndrome!
But the fun doesn't stop there—you know how Jacob's body heat was so crucial to the Twilight plot? Taylor's body temperature is also very important on Scream Queens, only this time he runs freakishly cold. "I envy ice. At least if you give it warmth, it melts," he deadpanned in the first episode. And now we know why: Cassidy is actually one of the living dead, a zombie if you will, albeit a high-functioning and extremely attractive one. He died after choking on his own puke (ew) after a night out with the boys. He doesn't know exactly what he is—that's why he decided to study medicine—so for all we know, he could be a vampire. Haha!
He doesn't seem to crave brains like a zombie would or blood like a vampire would—hey this is Scream Queens, anything can happen!—but there is a serial killer on the loose. Anyone, living or undead, could be under that creepy mask.
Thank you, Scream Queens, for making Twilight fanfiction (an AU chunk of it, at least) canon in your universe with this undead reveal, and we hope for more Twilight nods to come. In the meantime, let's all absorb this nugget of wisdom from Cassidy:
