Infidelity is a painful experience, even for celebrities who might seem that they've got their lives all figured out. Case in point: Kapuso lovebirds Ruru Madrid and Bianca Umali recently spoke up about the reported cheating incident that led to their infamous parking lot controversy in 2019.
In separate interviews with Boy Abunda, the two stars aired their respective sides, with Bianca confessing that while the story publicized was *exaggerated*, part of it—including the fact that their fight was triggered by jealousy—was indeed true. “Yung pagka-selosa ko po, alam ko na nasa lugar. Kapag alam ko na mayroon akong pagseselosan, doon ako nagseselos, and I have been right all the time,” she said.
A day after, Ruru cleared the air and spoke up at length about the incident, taking full responsibility for his actions that stirred the drama. He narrated, “Nung time na yun Tito Boy, medyo bago pa po kami, first time ko maramdaman na maging seryoso sa relationship. Before Bianca, may time na… It’s hard na aminin ko but naging ganun talaga ako. Para kong nakikipag-date sa beauty queen or artista so that maipagmalaki ko. May ganung trait ako before na feeling ko ego booster siya for me.
“What I realized nung nakilala ko si Banca is hindi dapat yun ung mga bagay na pinagmamalaki ko. Ang dapat na pinagmamalaki ko is yung mga bagay na totoo, and nung time na yun, siguro somehow medyo nangangapa pa ko kasi siguro first time ko maging seryoso when it comes to relationships.”
While they were together, he admitted that he did try to make a move on other girls. “Parang siguro, somehow sa sarili ko sinubukan ko na, ‘Kaya ko pa rin ba? Kaya ko pa rin bang kumausap ng ibang babae, kaya ko pa rin bang manligaw?’ Somehow yun yung dati kong sarili, siguro tiningnan ko sa sarili ko kung kaya ko pa din yung mga ganung bagay.”
Bianca eventually found out about his infidelity, which led to the parking lot fight. It was also the moment Ruru realized how badly he messed up. “Number one, nakita ko yung worth ni Bianca. Dun pumapasok yung pag wala sayo, dun mo siya hahanapin. Pag andiyan siya sa tabi mo, parang tine-take for granted mo siya. Pero nung naramdaman kong wala siya sakin, dun ko naramdaman na hindi ko kayang wala siya.”
“So I did everything para maging okay yung relationship naming dalawa. Kasi alam ko sa sarili ko na ‘pag kasama ko siya, I’m at my best. Pag di ko siya kasama, pakiramdam ko I’m lost. Siya yung nagbibigay ng liwanag, ng daan sakin, pero nasaktan ko yung babaeng yun. Sinabi ko sa sarili ko na kahit eight months ako na nanligaw sa kanya ulit, hindi ako mapapagod na sabihin sakanya kung gaano ko siya kamahal at kung gaano siya kaimportante sakin.”
Now, Ruru and Bianca have been together for almost five years and are *stronger* than ever. Proof of their adorable chemistry is their upcoming first-ever series as a love team in The Write One. “First project namin together ni Bianca. So, I'm very excited, actually na may halong kaba rin somehow,” Ruru shared.
