Before our favorite love teams rose to popularity, some of them were paired up on old projects with a different star. We may now have the likes of KathNiel, LizQuen, and even JaDine as a few of the top love teams in this generation, but years ago, these were the celebrity love teams people were rooting for.
Here's a look back at some of the previous celebrity pairings on TV.Â
1. Nadine Lustre and AJ Muhlach
Before becoming #TeamReal with James Reid, Nadine was paired up with AJ Muhlach in the TV5 projects P.S. I Love You and Bagets: Just Got Lucky.
2. James Reid and Yen Santos
Fresh out of Pinoy Big Brother, James teamed up with fellow PBB alum Yen Santos in the teleserye Pintada.
3. Kathryn Bernardo and Enrique Gil
Kathryn and Enrique now have their respective and super successful love teams (and real-life relationships!), but years ago, they got to work together for the 2011 film Way Back Home and the 2021 teleserye Princess & I.Â
4. Julia Barretto and Enrique Gil
Aside from Kathryn, Enrique was also paired up with Julia Barretto for the TV series Mirabella. Back then, their love team was referred to as QuenLia.
5. Daniel Padilla and Julia Montes
Kathryn and Julia Montes are known for their onscreen and offscreen bond, especially after often working together ever since they were younger. But what many fans may not know is that Daniel and Julia also have history together as love team partners in the TV series Gimik 2010.Â
6. Alden Richards and Louise delos Reyes
Before rising to fame as one-half of the beloved Kapuso love team AlDub, Alden was first paired with fellow GMA star Louise delos Reyes in the 2011 teleserye Alakdana. They later teamed up again for the 2013 series Mundo Mo'y Akin.Â
7. Ronnie Alonte and Julia Barretto
Before becoming part of the popular love teams LoiNie and JoshLia, Ronnie and Julia got to team up as a love team through the projects A Love to Last and, eventually, Vince & Kath & James.Â
