Taylor Swift's mom Andrea Findlay, known as Mama Swift to Swifties all over the world and is a constant figure in her daughter's tours and concerts, was diagnosed with cancer recently. The pop singer revealed this on her latest Tumblr post entitled Just So You Know.
Apparently, T-Swizzle asked her mom to get screened as part of her Christmas gift for her just to ease her and her brother's worries about her health. However, the results were not what they were hoping for. "The results came in, and I'm saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer," she wrote. "I'd like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know."
Our prayers and hugs go out to you today, Tay-Tay. Even in the face of the sad announcement, she and her mom still took time to remind everyone about the importance of one's health. "She wanted you to know because your parents may be too busy juggling everything they've got going on to go to the doctor, and maybe you reminding them to go get checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle," she said on her blog. "Or peace of mind in knowing that they're healthy and there's nothing to worry about. She wanted you to know why she may not be at as many shows this tour. She's got an important battle to fight."

Since her blog post, fans have been tweeting support and prayer messages for her mom using the hashtag #PrayForMamaSwift.
