Ever wondered what it's like to work for a local government unit? Residents of Pasig City are given the chance to immerse themselves in government-related work through their newly launched Government Internship Program (GIP). The GIP is a three-month internship program wherein accepted applicants get to work closely with the LGU. Pasig City residents, with or without work experience, who are 18 to 30 years old and are high school or college graduates, current college students, and graduates of technical vocational courses can apply.

Many were saddened in the comments section about missing out on the chance to apply for the program. Some are even asking if a second batch for the applications is possible. Since announcing the GIP, the post has gotten viral on Facebook, with over 8,000 likes and almost 4,000 shares.

It seems Pasig City residents are eager to work with the LGU for its various campaigns and initiatives, led by the city mayor, Vico Sotto. In February 2021, the Pasig City mayor was honored by the U.S. Department of State for his transparency initiatives both during his time as a councilor and during his current term as a mayor. "During his first year and a half in the Mayor’s office, Sotto has continued efforts to guarantee the citizens of Pasig easier access to city information, and committed to improve transparency in the city’s budgeting and contracting process," the official press release from the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines states.
