Time to feel alive again because local band Over October just dropped their 11-track debut album Press Play. To celebrate the release, the band threw an intimate and exclusive listening party in November with friends and fans.

Candy got to catch up with the four members, Josh Buizon, Joshua Lua, Janessa Geronimo, and Joric Canlas during the listening party for a new series called #MyFirstGig, and just like their music, it was nothing but good vibes.

In the interview (which kind of turned into mukbang starring drummer Janessa and bassist Joric!), lead vocalist Josh talks about his Troy Bolton moment where he had to choose between music and playing basketball while lead guitarist Joshua—an honorary Candy Cutie—also opened up about how he first got into music. They also shared their thoughts on releasing their first ever single (Ano ba talaga, guys? “Arbitrary” or “Lovestruck?”) which they recorded for their college org’s album.

Lastly, the group gave their golden advice for aspiring musicians: “Mag-practice kayo, kasi kami hindi nagpa-practice.” LOL, gotta love ‘em. Watch the full video here:
