This Online Series Is Launching *Soon* to Form the Next P-Pop Idol Group

There's no question about P-pop's meteoric rise in the OPM scene. P-pop groups are taking their artistry to the next level with fresh concepts and vibe-worthy music. Thanks to its potential for success, more and more people are looking forward to the launch of more promising P-pop artists in the future. Who knows, you might even be one of the members of a new P-pop idol group!

Thanks to an upcoming online series, aspiring performers will get the chance to fight for a shot at debuting as a member of a P-pop idol group. A new show called Top Class—which will be launched on local streaming platform Kumu and made in partnership with Cignal Entertainment, TV5, and Cornerstone Entertainment—is set to find the members of an upcoming P-pop boy group! 

What is Top Class?

Hosted by Catriona Gray, the talent search competition will select 30 participants who will be divided into teams and will face challenges weekly. They will be subjected to evaluation where they can face consequences like detention, or worse, face elimination where they are kicked off the show. To secure a spot in the Top 5 and eventually make their debut as a P-pop group member, the contestants will undergo a two-month training and three major showdowns where they can showcase their talent for rap, dance, and vocals.


What do the Top Class winners get?

Aside from getting the chance to become a member of a boy group, the Top 5 contestants of the show will be given  P2.5 million in cash, P50,000 worth of live streaming gadgets each, a three-year managing contract and a three-year record deal with Cornerstone Entertainment Inc. Not bad, right?

How do I join Top Class?

If you're interested to take your shot at becoming a star, you can audition via Kumu! Males aged 16 to 26 years old can audition until April 20, 2022. Here are the mechanics:

  • Create a 57-second Kumu klip introducing yourself and showing your talent (in singing, rapping, or dancing).
  • Upload your video on your Kumu account and use the hashtag #kumuTOPCLASS.
  • Fill out the audition form here.
