In an interview with Fancast, Nina Dobrev talks about her experience playing the roles of Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce on the hit series The Vampire Diaries. She confesses that she didn't know she was also going to portray the role of Katherine when she auditioned for the role of Elena. When asked about her transition from the girl-next-door Elena to the fierce Katherine, she says that the clothes, accessories, hair, and other details help her focus on whichever role she's playing.
