R&B artist NIKI is a mainstay on many people's playlists mainly because her songs hit right in the feels. With tracks like "lowkey" and "La La Lost You," you can bet that NIKI also went through her fair share of feels.Â
In a recent appearance on Elle's Song Association segment to promote her latest album Moonchild, NIKI opened up a bit about her past experience with someone who didn't like her back, and she's got an A+ response to it now.
In the middle of the game, NIKI whose real name is Nicole Zefanya shared that she once memorized an entire rap song for a boy she liked. "That's another rap song I discovered in like the 6th grade or whatever," she says. "I memorized every single f***ing lyric in both verses in the beginning to impress a boy."

"He was just like, 'Cool, I don't like you back.' But it's okay, I'm a pop star now, so..." the artist quips. Just ~queen~ things.
NIKI wasn't bluffing about her pop star cred. At the age of 15, she was already an opening act for Taylor Swift during her tour's Indonesia stop. The R&B artist also went on tour with another pop star, Halsey. She's signed under 88rising, one of the hottest and fastest rising labels in the music scene. She's also friends with your favorite K-pop idols like GOT7's Jackson and Blackpink's Lisa, no biggie. So yup, it seems NIKI bounced back in life despite being turned down.Â
