Niall Horan Has Just Released His First Song as a Solo Artist

And it's a breakup song.

We were all heartbroken when the boys of One Direction took their final bow onstage as a group before their indefinite hiatus. And now, they've all been slowly doing their own thing—Louis Tomlinson juggling his judge duties on the show that first pushed him into the limelight; Harry Styles embarking on a movie career with his upcoming film Dunkirk; Liam Payne collaborating with artists to make music (and busy romancing his lady love Cheryl Cole); and Zayn pursuing his solo career after breaking free from the group in March of 2015. As for Niall Horan, little did we know that while he was busy fraternizing with his golf idols, he was brewing something for fans who've been waiting for new music from the boys since last year.

Late last night, he released his first single as a solo artist—he even has his own Spotify page now!

It hasn't even been 12 hours since and the fans have been going crazy, sending Nialler's first solo song high up on the charts.

Even his fellow 1D members had nice words to say about the tune.

If we can't have One Direction for now, we won't say no to new music from one of them. Congrats, Niall! We can't wait to hear more.
