Charlie Dizon is the rising star that everyone is talking about because of her chilling performance in Fan Girl. And yup, the 24-year-old actress actually won her first major acting award when she was hailed the Best Actress during the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival awards night! Charlie shared a lengthy Instagram post yesterday, December 28, and thanked the many people who helped her achieve this recognition:
And it seems that her childhood BFF all the way in South Korea couldn't help but gush over Charlie's performance. ICYDK, Nancy McDonie of K-pop girl group MOMOLAND is best friends with Charlie. The two go way back when they trained as K-pop idols in South Korea in their early teens. Because this year's MMFF went ~online~, Nancy was able to watch Charlie's film and, as a true bestie, raved about it on Instagram Stories. Posting a Fan Girl still of Charlie, Nancy wrote "Best Actress" along with the message: "I am so proud and impressed with your performance. You are amazing, Charlie. You deserve Best Actress. Congratulations."
