Many of your favorite rising stars today are newcomers in the local entertainment industry, but there are also former child artists who continued practicing their craft all the way through young adulthood. There’s just something special about witnessing a young starlet grow up in the spotlight, especially when she’s as memorable as Miles Ocampo. Remember watching her funny scenes in Goin’ Bulilit ~back in the day~? Now 25 years old, the Gen Z actress is ready to make her mark in the industry as a full-fledged adult.

If you’re curious about what she’s been up to lately, keep reading to learn five fast facts that you should know about Miles:

1. Miles is a former child actress.

Born on May 1, 1997, Miles was only 12 years old when she joined the sixth batch of the Goin’ Bulilit cast in 2009. While she initially wanted to be a flight attendant, acting surprisingly came naturally to her. Unlike most child actors, Miles was already capable of studying the script and memorizing her lines without the help of her parents. In fact, she even found it easy to cry for the cameras on the spot!

A self-confessed pabibo kid, Miles saw Goin’ Bulilit tapings as mere playtime because of how much she enjoyed bonding with her fellow castmates. ICYDK, she usually got paired with her batchmate Igi Boy Flores, but she eventually became a mainstay in the show for four years. Afterward, she decided to pursue other acting gigs including Mga Anghel Ng Langit, BFF: Best Friends Forever, and You’ve Changed My Life.

2. Miles is famed for her versatility in acting.

From being recognized as a cute comedienne in Goin’ Bulilit, Miles is now lauded for her ability to play different roles in various genres. For example, she proved that she can portray serious characters with mature storylines through her heartrending performance in the family-drama series And I Love You So. She also continues to do comedic roles and lighthearted scenes well, as seen by her happy-go-lucky characters in Sana Dalawa ang Puso and Home Sweetie Home. Given her multifaceted filmography, it’s no wonder that she already got nominated for Best Actress at the Metro Manila Film Festival last 2019.

3. Miles is currently a talent at Crown Artist Management.

Earlier this year, Miles left ABS-CBN’s Star Magic to join Crown Artist Management, a talent agency managed by Maja Salvador and Rambo Nunez Ortega. Joining her in the talent agency is John Lloyd Cruz, who also happens to be her fellow castmate in GMA Network’s comedy series Happy ToGetHer. We haven’t heard much about her future projects since Miles announced her new contract in March, but we’re totally keeping our eyes peeled for updates!

4. Miles’ best friend is Sharlene San Pedro.

Although Miles and Sharlene San Pedro first met on the set of Goin Bulilit, they only befriended each other while working on the rom-com show Luv U. Just like you and your barkada, they typically bonded over their love for food and pop music. From watching concerts together to going on overseas birthday trips, their super sweet friendship moments never fail to make us smile. Fresh out of her 25th birthday, Miles went public about her relationship with Gameboys actor Elijah Canlas last month. In an *adorable* Instagram post, Miles shared a photo of her embracing Elijah with the caption “My heart is full. Thank you, thank you, thank you.” A few weeks later, Elijah revealed in an interview that he and Miles have been together for nearly a year now.
