Netizens Reply To Mayor Vico Sotto's Hilarious "Panda" Tweet

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rattle the world with worrying news updates, it’s natural for the internet to turn to lighthearted stories occasionally to ease their anxiety. And recently, Mayor Vico Sotto was the designated provider of some much-needed wholesome content.Â
As most businesses remain grounded during the Enhanced Community Quarantine, Pasig’s office had to manually print and cut out food coupons set to be distributed to public school students. Of course, they couldn’t have done it without their hungry helper, a.k.a. a life-sized 3D panda!
Mayor Vico posted a photo of Pasig's Transport Head Anthony Siy with their furry friend, rendered through Google's Augmented Reality feature.
"This is our Transport Planning Head @anthony_siy cutting coupons with his friend Panda,” the mayor casually inserted into his tweet. "…pinag-uusapan din namin ang proyektong #LibrengHatid para sa mga pasyente."
Mayor Vico didn’t stop there. When one Twitter user asked if they had a guillotine cutter in their office to make the job easier, he replied that their unruly panda, who seemed to be more preoccupied with his snack rather than helping out, was simply sitting on one of them.Â

He even tweeted another photo for proof:

Twitter was grateful for the distraction, of course. Check out some of the reactions, below!

If, like most of the tweets above, you want your own 3D panda to keep you company while you’re stuck at home, all you need to do is pull up Google on your phone. Simply search for “Panda” and click the “View in 3D” option that shows up right at the top of your results to open its AR feature on your camera.
If you’re not one for hosting a hungry panda, you can also try hanging out with the 3D version of other animals by searching the following: alligator, angler fish, brown bear, cat, cheetah, dog, duck, eagle, emperor penguin, goat, hedgehog, horse, lion, shark, octopus, snake, tiger, turtle, or wolf.Â
