Mavy Legaspi has already appeared in several commercials with his family since he was a kid, but it was only in 2018 when he was *officially* launched as a Kapuso artist. Since then, the celeb son has ventured into acting, hosting, and even performing.
Entering the entertainment industry wasn’t easy-peasy for the actor, however, especially since his mom had some *reservations.* In a recent interview with Boy Abunda, Mavy revealed that his mom Carmina Villarroel initially *discouraged* him from joining showbiz.
“Definitely, growing up, may discouragement. More on my mom’s side, kasi she’s very protective. Pero yung dad ko, ever since talagang, ‘Go, I want you guys to do it pero if ayaw niyo okay lang,’” he shares.
“Pero si mom kasi [iniisip] yung bashing, difficulty of the work, yung puyatan, then less time with friends. Very [motherly] instincts siya pero it was definitely my decision to enter the industry.”
At just 22 years old, Mavy has already accomplished more than most could ever dream of! And guess what? His latest triumph includes snagging a coveted spot as one of the newest hosts on the legendary Philippine variety show, Eat Bulaga!
Despite the mixed reactions on the show’s new hosts, Mavy remains *determined.*
“I’m enjoying. Ako, pagdating talaga sa trabaho, whatever helps me improve, doon ako,” he says. “I’m enjoying that I’m improving my skills, yun talaga.”
Well said, Mavy!
