Markus Paterson has been the talk of the town recently because of how he defended his little family from the public eye. But aside from being Janella Salvador’s other half and Jude’s dad, what else do we know about him?

Here are a few fast facts about Markus Paterson, like his early life, schools, hobbies:

Markus was born on June 3, 1998, and is the only child of former British Air Force pilot George Trevor Paterson and Pangasinan-based businesswoman Norma Mario-Paterson. For most of his childhood, he stayed in the UK but transferred to the Philippines in 2007. He was nine years old then and studied at the Reedley International School in Manila.

After staying here for a few years, he went back to England to be with his father.

Markus actually went to college in Enderun.

In 2015, Markus returned to the Philippines to pursue his undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management at Enderun Colleges. He was actually on an athletic scholarship in the school and played football with Kaya FC, the largest football academy in the Philippines.

Growing up, Markus Paterson's very athletic and played a lot of sports!

Aside from football, his Star Magic profile states that he’s also a trained mixed martial arts fighter and a Jiu-Jitsu blue belt holder. Plus, he loves swimming and gymnastics as well. Truly athletic indeed!

Markus Paterson is a part of Star Magic Batch 21

In an interview with RX 93.1, Markus mentioned that he didn’t want to pursue showbiz at first as he wanted to prioritize his football career. But an unexpected opportunity presented itself when he was in Boracay in late 2015—Markus was discovered by Allan Altera of A-List Talent Marketing Agency and started his showbiz career in 2016.

His first project was a hosting stint in ASAP Chill Out and then proceeded to join Pinoy Boyband Superstar where he was one of the talent show’s finalists. Later on, he joined the cast of KathNiel’s La Luna Sangre as a supporting actor and was officially launched as a part of Star Magic Batch 21. ICYDK, he was launched at the same time as Donny Pangilinan, Zonia Mejia, Yasmyne Suarez, Henz Villaraiz, Daniela Stranner, Patty Mendoza, Leila Alcasid, Anna Luna, Chantal Videla, Karl Gabriel, Charlie Dizon, and Tony Labrusca.

He is multi-talented and has made music in the past

Of course, Markus has proven his music chops during his stint in Boyband Philippines but did you know that Markus has also released his own music? He signed a record deal with Tarsier Records in 2017 and during which he released his debut single entitled "WIWU (When I'm With You)."

Then in 2020, he released an EP called B-Side which has eight songs: "Poem," "WDYG," "Better," "Daylight," "For J," and a single called "Best Wishes.” He also released a collab with Romarin & Co this year, entitled “Taking a Downtime.”

Markus Paterson’s first lead role is in Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi

A year after his acting debut in La Luna Sangre, Markus starred in his first lead role as Leo in Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi where he was paired with Sue Ramirez and Jameson Blake. If you haven't seen the film yet, it's about a teenager (Sue) obsessed with social media who was diagnosed with a condition where she can't be around gadgets. She is then sent to a place without wifi where she has to deal with an LDR with her boyfriend (Markus). Catch the flick on Netflix if you haven't seen it already!

Markus was a part of the first Pinoy Netflix Original Dead Kids

In 2019, Markus Paterson worked with Sue Ramirez again. They both starred in the first Pinoy Netflix original, Dead Kids. Here, Markus played Chuck, the mayabang, handsome, and rich boy that the cast, Kelvin Miranda, Vance Larena, Sue Ramirez, Khalil Ramos, Jan Silverio, and Gabby Padilla, plotted against.

Markus is in a relationship with Janella Salvador

After a year of sparking rumors about their relationship, Janella and Markus' relationship was made social media official on September 12, 2020, when Janella posted a photo of them hugging in front of the Glico running man billboard in Kyoto, Japan.

On the same day, they made the whole internet swoon after Markus posted a video of them slow dancing to Michael Buble’s "Me and Mrs. Jones." So sweet!

He’s a proud dad of a cute baby boy!

At exactly 8 p.m. on January 5, 2020, Janella and Markus introduced their son, Jude Trevor Paterson, to social media through a Youtube video aptly entitled "Hey, Jude." They shared all the intimate moments they have been privately keeping in the most heartwarming way. Since then, Markus—like the proud dad that he is—has been posting snippets of their little family life on his Instagram account. Spot this cute photo of the father-son duo hiding under the covers:
