Actress and singer Maris Racal and Rivermaya frontman Rico Blanco are in a relationship. Maris herself set the record straight regarding her relationship with Rico during the online media conference of Maalaala Mo Kaya on Monday, May 31, after a member of the press had asked about the real score between the two.Â
"Kami po ni Rico... I think basing po sa post na ginawa ko po, I think it's very obvious," shares Maris. She also briefly talked about their plans on future collaborations. "Right now we're very excited and busy din. We're preparing such beautiful music together kaya abangan po nila soon."
Maris, 24, and Rico, 48, first sparked dating rumors when Maris posted a birthday greeting for Rico on Instagram in March 2021, featuring the two sitting cozily beside each other while jamming together.Â
Fans of their music would recall that the two had a public interaction in 2018 on Twitter. At that time, Maris was on the lookout for someone to give input regarding her music. One fan of Maris tagged Rico, to which he replied with a simple "g!" As a huge fan of Rico, Maris tweeted, "Hope you can listen to my unreleased songs!!!"
In 2019, Maris and Rico collaborated on her song "Abot Langit", which was arranged, produced, mixed, and mastered by Rico.
